Legs & Co. – Spinning Rock Boogie

TOTP 11th November 1976: Legs & Co. dance to Spinning Rock Boogie by Hank C. Burnette.

Thanks to Andeebee for the YouTube post.

From the old blog, Monday, 4 February 2013:

Here’s a Legs & Co. routine that’s long been thought lost forever: dancing to Hank C. Burnette’s Spinning Rock Boogie. Thanks to our pals over on panspeople.com who unearthed it. There’s a bit of discussion over there about whether this is from the long-thought-wiped Thursday 11th November 1976 TOTP, or from that week’s Blue Peter, where L & C where known to have appeared that week. If I had to guess, I’d say Blue Peter: the complete absence of audience suggests it, plus there’s something about the whacky camera angles which makes me think more of a Blue Peter production team enjoying the novelty of shooting frantic a pop performance, rather than a TOTP team for whom it would be just another piece of just another show. All subjective, I know.

Anyway, it’s a smashingly energetic performance from a still-quite new team: this is there first performance under the name “legs & Co.” after all.

Absolutely magnificent that a ‘holy grail’ such as this has seen the light of day 36 years on.
What an energetic routine to such a fast-paced Rockabilly guitar number.
Is it any wonder the ladies didn’t have an ounce of fat on them?!

Simply stunning. I’m marvelling at how these ‘lost’ routines are discovered by some, two rare gems in one night!?

Magnificent long lost performance. I wonder if the actual DLT “Legs & Co” naming ceremony will show up too one day?
