Legs & Co. – Night Fever

Top of the Pops, 20 April 1978: Legs & Co. dance to the Bee Gees’ Night Fever.

A favourite performance of mine, here are Legs & Co. in a routine clearly influenced by Saturday Night Fever, the hit film from which this song (like so many others in the charts at this time) was taken.

I suppose some people like the atmospheric effect of dry ice, but for me, as a dance fan, it only serves to get in the way of the performance. Still it could be worse; and the disco/catwalk set complete with mirrors and floor-level lights is quite inventive.

The strutting, striding choreography owes something to the dancing in the aforementioned film without being a slavish copy.
